Dunno why, but I really love those wheels.

Because 4-barrel carb, 4-speed on the floor, and 2 exhaust pipes.

I bet they'd look ace on my future Nova that I will someday totally buy. I prefer them over the stock Chevrolet slotted Rallys too.

Me too.

Kinja'd!!!

I wish Year One would make larger-sized reproductions like they have for the Chevrolet Rally and Pontiac Snowflake designs.

Damn, that looks sweet! I also think I prefer the Notchback cutlass over the fastback 442, haha...

As long as they make them to fit the car they are designed for, not like the Camaro Ralleys. LOL.

Kinda, I always thought Comets and Fairlanes of those years were neat looking, but the problem of living in Brazil remains, hahah...

Hahaha.

That problem not an impact on Nova's?

And Mercury's are "less desirable" (I call BS on that) and therefore tend to be cheaper. I don't know if Mercury was ever sent to Brazil, but I know Ford was!

Thanks! It's a big father-son garage queen. Right now, it's in need of a new voltage regulator, a new wiring harness, and some new bits for the rear suspension. But it's 90 percent finished and it still drives excellent.

Oddly enough, I'm the other way around. The Cutlass Supreme looks excellent and classy, but the fastback coupes are what stirs me up. The styling lend itself better to resto-mod projects than the Supreme does.

And they kept the same sort of style well into the '80s...

Kinja'd!!!

...and although it was on the same platform, the Monte Carlo used different - yet similar - wheels...

Kinja'd!!!

... and the Monte Carlo ones were also used on the S10/S15/Sonoma/Blazer/Jimmy.

Nah, Year One actually did a much better job at upsizing the original Chevrolet Rally rims.

Nope, no Mercurys in Brazil, and none of the classic american Fords Either, save for the 1965 Galaxie and 1970 Maverick. Back in the 60's and 70's, which is when Ford started producing cars for the average buyer in Brazil, they only had three passenger cars, the smaller Corcel (a rebodied Renault R17) in 3 or four variants, the Maverick as their mid size and the Galaxie as their full size.

Chevy only started making cars in 1969 and their only offerings throughout the 70's were the Chevette and the Opala, so, while americans were enjoying the peak of the horsepower wars, Brazil barely had an automotive industry at all.

Oh yeah, there were the occasional imports, cars brought from the US and Canada between the 20's and 50's, and even into the 60's, but those were few and far between, specially in my neck of the woods. There was a guy who lived across the street from my grandparents' who owned a 1968 Chevy II, with the 250 and probably the crappiest transmission available, and there was a guy living in the outskirts of town who had a coupe from the 40's, maybe a 40 Ford, though I haven't seen him or the car since I was 8, so I've no idea...

Man. You really need to move to the US, just for car availability.

There's a Chevy II with a straight 6 around the corner from me which needs it's life saved.

What year? I'd totally hit up a straight 6 Chevy II, rebuild it, then swap a V8 in there and end up with a spare, built 6 cylinder.

Only in 1964... In 1965 the 4 speed was dropped and the 4 then meant 400ci. Because people just haaaad to have an automatic... The 70 pictured above stood for 455ci. It changed quite a bit over the years, so much so that "442" even accommodated the quad 4 powered 90s Cutlass.
